Coming soon to Innovation hangar

If you've visited the iHangar recently, you may have noticed that our space seems a little empty. The California Historical Society's City Rising exhibit celebrating the centennial of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition has come to an end. In its place, Innovation Hangar is excited to announce several new exhibits, programs, and projects for the New Year.

Wisdom 2.0

Wisdom 2.0 is the premiere gathering focused on exploring the intersection of wisdom and technology. Our flagship gathering is in San Francisco each year, where thousands of people from over 30 countries join in asking: how do we live with greater presence, purpose and wisdom in the digital age?

Tomorrow’s innovators practice imaginative thinking and teamwork. Guided by two or more adult Coaches, FIRST LEGO League* teams (up to 10 members, grades 4-8**) research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®, then compete on a table-top playing field.

Although the CHS City Rising exhibit is gone, Innovation Hangar will soon be featuring a new exhibit on the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915. Put on by the authors of Panorama: Tales from San Francisco's 1915 Pan-Pacific International Exposition (for sale in our gift shop), the new exhibit will focus on the inventors, innovators, and historic people who were present for the World's Fair 100 years ago.
